Throughout my entire appointment I felt as though I, the customer, was an annoyance. When I arrived at the store, I introduced myself to the sales woman; she did not reciprocate my introduction. Rather than ask me what my price range was, she grabbed what she called "entry level" dresses and then proceeded to make snobbish quips at my lack of knowledge about the designers. It turns out they did in fact have more affordable dresses than what she grabbed... but instead of informing me of that she kept driving home that THESE dresses were not like those other, non-couture dresses I had tried at other stores and thus they were much more expensive. She also felt the need to belittle me (again, the customer) by informing me that if I had looked at their website I would have seen that the designers they carried were couture and out of my price range. I explained that I had called the store and asked what the price range was on their dresses, and they had not given me any numbers but just told me to stop in. The sales associate didn't seem to care that I had tried to prevent an experience like the one I was having, and went on her way with telling me such things like, "you're really sweaty." after she had just insulted me to the point of tears. It was the worst experience I have had during my three months of dress shopping and although I did indeed find a dress at Avant that I loved and could afford, I am choosing to buy it elsewhere because of the haughty and arrogant attitude of my sales associate.
